“Stars Gathering” refers to the Cherokee legend which tells of a man who one day saw a falling star. Upon investigation, the man found a small bird in the place where the star hand landed. This was the birth of the legend that stars are birds. The painting shows the stars becoming birds as they ascend into the night sky. The tree as well as the earth and birds are shown as part of the night sky, symbolizing that everything is related and part of the whole.
